The Desjardins Group (Mouvement des caisses Desjardins) is the largest association of credit unions in North America. It was founded in 1900 in Quebec by Alphonse and Dorimène Desjardins. Located mostly in Quebec as well as in Ontario, Manitoba, and New Brunswick, it is a federation of 376 local Caisses populaires Desjardins, which serve more than 7 million members. $82.3 million in community support (donations and sponsorships) in 2014.
